Ticketmaster To Sell Downloads Alongside Tickets

Ticketmaster_2UPDATED:
Ticketmaster head Sean Moriarty’s keynote at Pollstar’s CIC convention this week in LA included an announcement that the company has made a deal with iTunes to sell music alongside tickets. Ticketmaster has worked with iTunes previously on the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Dylan and others with promotions that gave those pre-buying a release first crack at convert tickets, but this marks a major expansion of the alliance.

In addition to select linked ticket and download pre-sale campaigns Ticketmaster will begin giving away an iTunes download with every ticket purchased online.  (press release) Those that prefer any brand of other than the IPod are out of luck.
