New Music Business Briefing: iPhone Boost, Cherry Picks On YouTube, Fuzz.com & More

Iphone >>> The launch late this month of the iPhone should give a boost to the entire smartphone and music phone market. "The iPhone is about to do for smartphones what the iPod did for digital music players: put one in everyone's pocket." (PC World)

Youtube >>> Cherry Lane publishing has joined the YouTube class action suit. (Billboard.biz)

>>>  Crain's Business Report has a good if gloomy overview of today's music industry.

Wired >>> Wired Magazine has an "Audiophile Approved Guide To The Digital Underground".  "...now that MySpace is overrun with posers, you'll have to go elsewhere to impress audiophiles with your musical savvy. Just don't tell them who sent you."

Mouse >>> WORTHY CLICK: One site that Wired mentions that I keep forgetting to give props to is Fuzz.com. The multi-purpose site both empowers artists and encourages music discovery and they do it in a format that doesn't make you feel like their trying to sell you something.
