> iPod sales grew only 5% over the previous year suggesting a saturation in the portable  player market. (ZDnet) That sent Apple’s soaring stock down almost 10% yesterday (more) Does all this also mean that there is finally an appetite for iPod and iTunes alternatives?

  1. Maybe the iPod sales decline or flattening has to do with the fact that everyone that wants one, has one. I was late to the iPod party and got a new Touch when it launched, but I am in no hurry to buy another, and hopefully it will last long enough to where I won’t need to purchase one in the near future.
    But I am spending money now on iTunes, accessories, speakers, etc that should keep the iPod legacy alive.
    And too bad about Yahoo, it was bound to happen.
