Turning Mediocre Fan Videos Into Promo Gold

From the one of the Scandanavian labels behind the the Swedish Model (more on that soon, but think "fan and tech friendly label consortium" ) comes a way to turn those lousy fan videos that get posted on YouTube into something you and your fans might actually find worth watching.

It's simple: choose the best and put them together in a virtual concert. In this case, Sweden's Moto boy put together something too long for YouTube so he posted it on Vimeo. Video after the jump...

I really like this idea, since there is so much fan material on Youtube, why not put it to good use. Also, regarding this post (http://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2008/08/music-income-20.html) why not combine the two ideas. There are so many fan covers out there, I feel as though a band (especially popular ones) could find a number of quality cover videos and combine them as a promotional move.
