MySpace MyAds Targets Indie Music

Myspace
I wrote about the beta of the MySpace’s self-service ad platform that shows potential for local and touring musicians a few weeks ago.  But now it’s officially here along with an important improvement.

MySpaceMyAds is a do-it-yourself ad platform that enables bands, promoters and other small businesses to create customized banners, target them to specific audiences and analyze campaign performance. Advertising starts at $25 and can be targeted by a combination of sex, age, location and interest.  Unlike Facebook, however, you are not able to target ads via key words (for example Pink Floyd if you thought your band would appeal to their fans). You pay per click with rates starting at 25 cents.

The improvement from the beta is that ads can now link to pages off of MySpace (like a band web site or ticketing page). And with the  expansion of MySpace Music, MySpaceMyAds offers an affordable entry into a very large abd active community of fans.
