More Fallout: Mubito Enters Administration

Mubito, which builds direct-to-consumer web platforms for artists and record labels, has entered administration. The Swedish company will continue to operate while a court appointed administrator seeks a buyer.

Andrew Martyn, the CEO and founder, has left the company as part of a restructuring that will reportedly see the company shrink from 45 to 30 employees.  Jorgen Gransoe of Norventum Capital is running the company temporarily and is implimenting a plan to re-launch Mubito later this month.

  1. How many more digital music companies will fall in this direction? How can Artist’s be sure that the company that helps them D.I.Y. will be around in a year? Answer: We can’t!

  2. Any musician can hire good web designer and have a website for $100. Mubito was charging $700 for the same job. That is why they are out of business. Besides, musician sites made by mubito looked alike. Instead of your uniqueness, they were giving you uniformity.
Therefore, mubito was shut down for a reason. People figured out the scam.

  3. Please tell me where I can hire a good web designer for $100!!! We only found out today after a fan reported our website was down! 🙁

  4. Too bad. I think it was too expensive but the alternative of hiring a designer for $100 is ridiculous. We @MOvE have a similar platform for services purposes and it works absolutely fine for our clients, mainly because of the numerous functions wich your are not able to create if you are on your own….
    Mubito: RIP!
