The Orchard has entered an extensive and exclusive arrangement with Industry vet Michael Caplan's One Haven Music. Under the agreement, The Orchard will support One Haven projects with global sales and marketing; physical and digital distribution, synchronization licensing for film, television, and advertising; and some co-investment capital.
Michael Caplan began his career in 1983 working for music industry exec Morris Levy. After jobs at various record stores and labels, Caplan moved to the A&R department at Epic Records, where he held court for twenty years signing artists like Living Colour, Keb'Mo', Firehouse, Ginuwine, and G. Love; and forging new successes for established icons such as The Allman Brothers Band and Tower of Power.
In 2003, Caplan left Sony to start Or Music, where he broke Matisyahu and Los Lonely Boys. In 2006, Caplan returned to Sony/BMG as Senior Vice President, A&R at Columbia Records before serving as Executive Vice President, A&R at leading independent Razor & Tie (currently an Orchard client).
