I apologize for this being a burning question for me: Can Vanilla Ice still help sell beer?

Two full decades after he painfully topped the charts, the less than talented Vanilla Ice and his annoying hit "Ice Baby Ice" is still being used by brewers to sell beer. This time its in South Africa, but wherever the ads may be running, it made me wonder: Can Vanilla Ice really still help sell beer? Is an annoyingly catchy song a catchy song forever? Or are some songs like a car accident – you know you shouldn't pay attention, but you feel compelled to?
