eMusicBlast Promises Pro A&R Feeedback For $49

A small but growing group of online services have begun offering artists the opportunity to pay for access to industry insiders. Startup eMusicBlast.com sells direct feedback from working A&R professionals.

They promise the execs will listen to each demo and provide at least 30+ words of written feedback. Producers and A&R executives on the list include producers and A&R staffers from labels including Concord, Bad Boy, Curb and Asylum.

Here's an EMusicBlast promo video with the Wonder Twinz of Sirius Satellite Radio:

  1. What do people think of these types of services? They feel a little slimey to me. And that video doesn’t instill much confidence.
I’m sure there’s a way this model could work, but there would have to be really high confidence that the “execs” are worth it, and the feedback will actually do something for the artist’s career.

  2. Really awful! Artist should avoid paying for the music industry. It’s the other way around.
So many bottom feeders in tech space like Tunecore, Emusic, etc.

  3. I agree, this model could work, but I would not Pay $49 just to hear someone’s opinions and recommendations… there would have to be some other reward coming out of it for the artist.

  4. I agree with all of you…but unfortunately tons of artists WOULD/WILL pay for these services.
This video is aimed at the urban audience, and I have a hunch they will make a pretty penny….people in rap are willing to do & pay ANYTHING to get put on.
sad reality, I really hope that this delivers value

  5. I understand that the general wisdom now days is to assume that a business such as this is a scam. However, I have worked very hard for over 7 years to create this business. And to prove to people who are quick to pass FALSE jugement I have launched a music conference where the label execs will be listening to music demos with the artists in person! The conference is at World Cafe Live on May 15, 2010 in Philadelphia, PA.
These same execs are available on the website and I ask anyone who is interested in learning more about this business to contact me anytime.
    Thank you,
