Live Nation & Wal-Mart Sign Ticketing Deal

image from mhpbooks.comimage from www.nova.edu The newly combined Live Nation and Ticketmaster have entered in a partnership with Wal-Mart that will see select stores selling tickets in their entertainment department, reports Billboard's Ray Waddell.

Approximately 500 stores will add concert and sports ticketing in the coming months including major markets like Chicago and Los Angeles according to remarks made Live Nation Entertainment Chairman Irving Azoff and an NBA Technology Summit in Dallas on Friday.

There's no word yet on what ticket fees will be charged for in store pickup.

  1. This is great news that Walmart is teaming up with Live Nation to sell concert tickets and more. It will be much easier now to buy tickets to NBA games, concerts, and more–can’t wait to buy my first ticket at Walmart.

  2. Walmart practices censorship on music as well as books. They will probably tell artists in the future what they can and can not play or the will not sell their tickets like they do with their music in their stores. If you think this is great news you are not looking down the road.

  3. I can get cheap plastic crap AND my over-priced tickets in one place! That’s totally bitchin’! Asshats. Of course their partnering up. How does this working into vertical integration?
