Spotify Says It’s Still Feeling WMG Love

image from www.thealarmclock.com During a call with industry analysts earlier this week, Warner Music Group CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr.appeared to close the door on working with free streaming music services like Spotify. “Free streaming services are not a positive thing for the industry," daid Bronfman, "and, as far as Warner Music Group goes, will not be licensed."

But according to a tweet from Spotify yesterday, its all just a big misunderstanding:

"To be clear WMG is not pulling out of Spotify. Media is taking things out of context. So don't worry-be happy :)"

  1. wise of spotify to fill in their members, but bronfman’s words don’t sound too promising. he’s tired of licensing free-streaming options…but will he make a suggestion for innovative services that he likes?

  2. Different spins on the same statement. Bronfman always said existing deals would remain in place – just that he won’t be making any NEW deals.
