Ben Folds + Chatroulette + 2000 Fans = Big Fun

During a recent concert Ben Folds connected his computer to the big screen and fired up hot online video chat site Chatroulette.com and spontaneously wrote a song inspired by each of the random people he met online. For the uninitiated, Chat Roulette randomly connects people online via webcam leading to often bazaar interactions. Folds public experiment was obviously fun for him and his fans, and has garnered more than a 526,000 views on YouTube.

  1. You left out 1/2 the story!!!
    The story is really about the OTHER GUY that people were comparing to Ben Folds and then Ben decided to do this.

  2. Not to be a grammar nazi, but Bruce keeps making this boo-boo:
    bazaar = middle eastern open-air marketplace
    bizarre = strange or unique

  3. Yeah, I’m not sure if it’s the misuse of ‘bazaar’ or the fact that the story misses the whole point of the tribute to Merton that’s worse.
    Actually, yeah, it’s ignoring Merton that’s worse. I mean… the video is even titled “Ode To Merton”! I mean, come on.
