Nimbit Expands Direct To Fan Toolkit With NimbitPro

At the ASCAP Expo in Hollywood today, direct to fan services provider Nimbit announced the addition of nimbitPro, an improved suite of tools and services designed to allow artists and their teams to manage their direct to fan marketing and sales efforts via a unified dashboard.

With nimbitPro, artists and their teams can use the dashboard to capture and communicate with fans, execute marketing campaigns, generate direct sales across multiple storefronts and distribution channels, and measure their efforts. "First generation direct-to-fan was comprised of independent tools, widgets, social networking sites, and messaging platforms," explained Phil Antoniades, Nimbit co-founder. "It worked well, but required extraordinary time and effort to implement and coordinate."

From the nimbitPro dashboard artists can:

  • Pre-sell new releases including VIP bundles
  • Convert fan interactions into direct-to-fan sales
  • Offer fan capture and engagement programs like tracks for email.
  • Market via email, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and SMS
  • Sell via storefronts on their site, Facebook, and MySpace alongside distribution to iTunes, AmazonMP3, and others including digital and physical fulfillment
  • Combine sales, fan activity, and social media to measure results
  • Cost is about $25 per month.

NimbitPro represents a significant evolution of the company’s proprietary technology.  "This launch is a realization of the vision we architected from day one,” explains Nimbit co-founder and CTO, Patrick Faucher.  “We’ve now delivered an end-to-end platform designed for long term, profitable fan relationships and music careers.”

  1. Jim –
How’re we ripping off artists? We totally up front about all fees/commissions, and we make a point of providing tools that artists and managers are asking for. It’s quite possible for artists to earn more with Nimbit — instead of without it!
I’d be glad to offer you a demo of our product, and you’ll see what we’re all about.

  2. What jim t probably means is, ‘Ugh! How can companies like Nimbit dream of asking unsigned artists to pay for anything!’
Of course you shouldn’t sign up for a service that charges $25/mo if you aren’t expecting to make significantly more than that in sales – unless you’re willing to eat that cost.
Services like these have every right to charge whatever they feel is reasonable. Artists should be able to decide whether or not a service is right for them based on their specific needs.
That’s the beauty of the new music industry – the options are nearly endless. You can do it all by yourself and share your earnings with no one, or if you feel you can earn more with some help you can choose to partner with any number of service providers and pay their fees or give them their cut.

  3. I agree with Scott and Refeup. Having worked with the platform myself, I find it to be a great value for the money. “Ripoff” is hardly the word I’d use.

  4. don’t know who is ripping off unsigned bnads, but most of these tech companies could care less about artists.
it’s all about volume and doing nothing for these sites.
what we need are filters to get rid of all the bad music and advise on good music.

  5. ^bad/good music, for non music theorists & purists, simply has to do with RELEVANCE.
The stuff we think is garbage is totally relevant to a particular niche of people.(ie tweens,hip-hop heads & Goth kids)
Our friends are our filter…so the new Facebook+Pandora partnership along with the new Open Graph should help with that.
However, I do agree that its all about #’s and volume for the sites though. Their business models are like that of the $5 pizza at Pizza Hut.
    Cheers!

  6. Nimbit isn’t about volume, ROI, or any of the terminology you’d be looking for on your balance sheets and P&L statements. Obviously we need to make more money than we spend — that’s what keeps the lights on, etc. But it’s SO much more than that.
We offer a platform to help artists build a solid foundation on which to grow an entire music career. Whether you’re a huge selling artist, or just figuring out how to work Garageband and ProTools, the Nimbit platform lets you move forward strategically, professionally, and with the least amount of head-scratching and shady folks to confront.
To address “pitttlewis”, we handle 1 artist the exact same way we handle 1,000 artists: with support, advice, and a platform that integrates artist needs into a smart, manageable package. Nimbit isn’t making a judgment call about your music, we’re only providing the biggest, best-est tool in your toolbox. And we’ll help you maximize how you use that tool to make the most of your career and opportunities. No fine print, no shady characters, and no contracts!
If spending $25/month is considered a scam, a ripoff, or worse, a waste of time, then maybe folks don’t understand the Nimbit platform. We’ve even got a free option for folks that just want to try things out! As I mentioned, I’d be glad to conduct a product demo for anyone — even if you’re a tween, hip-hop head, or goth. 😉

  7. Tricky: Yes and no. Nimbit merges everything into one, integrated platform so you can see the entire scope of your efforts easily and tightly.
One other nifty advantage of Nimbit: We offer complete digital and physical fulfillment for anything you sell. No trips to the post office, detailed sales reports, and the ability to sell any item you can come up with …
Nimbit does have a free option as well – and it works great! You can check out our different plans at http://www.nimbit.com/plans-pricing/
