Will The U.S. DoJ Punch A Hole In Apple's Walled Garden?

image from farm1.static.flickr.com A variety of sources are reporting that the U.S. Department of Justice has contacted several major media and tech companies about their relationship with Apple with an eye towards widening their investigation beyond the iTunes vs. Amazon inquiry revealed last week.

"The [Justice Dept.] is doing outreach," one Hollywood industry source to the NY Post. "You can't dictate terms to the industry. The Adobe thing is just inviting the wrath of everybody."  A senior source at a media company added, "If Apple thinks it's going to increase its monopoly with the iPad, it should look at the history of other walled gardens."
