Next year, an online virtual world and social network called Planet Michael is expected to launch. This game will be free-to-download and allow players to create avatars, interact with each other, and take a journey through the environments that reflect on Jackson’s most famous songs, such as Thriller, Beat It, and Smooth Criminal.

The hope of the developers is that they will be able to attract mainstream and casual gamers; those that are interested in online gaming, but are intimidated by MMOs like World of Warcraft and virtual worlds such as Second Life. Like the others, users can buy things in game and create and trade items for real money.
