Nimbit Launches Free Musician WordPress Plug-In

image from t3.gstatic.comMusic marketing platform Nimbit has just launched a free WordPress plug-in dubbed Instant Band Site designed to make it easy for artists to create a website using one of the may free WP templates available and linked to their Nimbit account.  Users need a Nimbit account and web hosting with WordPress. They offer a free plan, but artists wanting online sales and other features will need to sign up for NimbitIndie or NimbitPro for $12.95 per month and up. The company also will set up the site and link it to their service for $199.

The Instant Band Site includes a storefront to sell music (digital & CD), merchandise, & e-tickets, an artist bio, blog, news, and gig calendar, email list sign up and promo code redemption, an online music player, aocial network connection with Facebook, Twitter, etc. and  integration with photo galleries and other WordPress add-ons.  Updates in the Nimbit dashboard  are included on the website automatically along with linked storefronts on Facebook and MySpace.

  1. It’s a shame that along with the ease of use, they didn’t provide design templates that looks modern. The ones in the video demo are kind of what a band’s site would look like in 1997, otherwise it seems pretty cool.

  2. Old Record Guy, sorry you didn’t dig the templates, we provided them to get people started. The good news is if you don’t like our templates, Instant Band Site works with any wordpress template, and there are thousands to choose from.

  3. I downloaded the template I wanted but I have no idea how to use it as my website. I already own the domain, I just need to use wordpress to run it and there is no easy to follow instructions on how to do that on nimbit

    Here are the steps
    1. get a domain – check you’ve got that
    2. Install WordPress
    3. Install and run the Instant Band Site Plug-in in wordpress
    4. Enter your Nimbit User Name
    5. Pick which elements of the site you want, and the template you want to use
    6. hit Publish
