Apple Promises iTunes Announcement “You’ll Never Forget” Tomorrow Morning

image from cache.gizmodo.com "Tomorrow is just another day. That you’ll never forget." blares the Apple.com home page. "Check back here tomorrow for an exciting announcement from iTunes."  (click on image at left to enlarge) Apple is fond of making strong statements about its new products, but what is so revolutionary that Apple would use it's entire front page to tease it?

It's probably not some new iteration of Ping.  That happened last week with far less fanfare. 90 second previews have already been leaked. My bet is on some kind of cloud based music service.  Perhaps its just streaming what you've already bought on iTunes or dare we hope that its something more Spotify like?

What do you think Apple is announcing tomorrow?

  1. This is much too much self marketed hype for anything less than a Spotify like subscription service. It’s gotta be an announcement for a January or so launch.

  2. If Apple announces a cloud service then my bet is that you’ll be able to stream only the music you’ve purchased from iTunes.
In otherwords those who have more music than they can store on an iPhone can play their entire (purchased) library – or they’ll be able to fire up that entire library (via the web streaming) on someone else’s computer.
Pretty neat way for Apple to give you more incentive to pay them 99c per track…until you figure out that Rdio and MOG deliver an excellent cloud alternative for a fraction of the price.
If it’s not a cloud announcement then my bet is that the Beatles are finally for sale on iTunes.

  3. Yep, It’s the beatles catalogue and i believe some other special limited time promotions that will become available.

  4. um, doesn’t everyone already have their Fab Four disk burned to iTunes? Who cares about that? It had better be more for the display on their home page.
