Major Labels

Layoffs Continue At Warner Bros. Records

image from beta.wrmf-fm.tritondigitalmedia.com This weekend, Variety reported that Warner Bros. Records laid off several veteran executives. Among those cut were SVP of Digital Music Jack Isquith, SVPs of A&R Perry Watts-Russell and Kevin Williamson, SVP of Marketing Rob Gordon, VP of Promotions Franco Iemmello, VP of Urban A&R Naim Ali, VP of Video Promotion Wendy Griffith, VP of Marketing Andrea Kinloch, and SVP of Promotion Tom Biery.

This news follows the exit of longtime chairman and CEO Tom Whalley, who had been in that position for almost ten years. Variety estimates that at least 13 staffers were let loose, but it's likely that the number is slightly higher.

  1. Thank fucking Christ Jack Isquith is out of a job. Failing Upwards should be the title of his biography.

  2. Correction: Wendy Griffiths was SVP for music placement. Also gone: Jeff Anderson, SVP Creative, and Grover.

  3. Bout fucking time this happened, Warner music has been fucking up for the past few years with all these horrible ass business deals, losing millions of dollars on stupid ass investments. Fucking idiots.
