Mobile Roadie To Help Sony Create Artist Apps

Dsdsw Music app developer Mobile Roadie has brought in a major deal with Sony music.

The company is going to help the label create mobile apps for their roster.

Using their app-builder, called Mobile Roadie Pro, Sony will be developing both iPhone and Android apps for the artists they represent. This will enable artists like Daughtry, P!nk, and Mike Posner to offer fans the latest news, streams, and tour schedules, as well as, premium and exclusive content. Sony joins a list of other major partners such as Live Nation, Random House, and Twilight.

  1. So this is great… if you want to reach only 30% of your fan base…
    The true power of music and mobile together lies in the new ability bands and labels have to actually “reach out to”, “engage”, and “monetize” the fan base. The Mobile Web is crucial to any mobile strategy and, quite frankly, it’s missing here.
    Links to 3rd parties for content, merch, and tickets result in bands/labels making LESS money. Of equal importance are in depth analytics that raise in value over time. They too are missing here.
    Mobile can result in the major labels starting to make money again if they start doing deals with the right companies…
    It will be a shame if the major labels continue to miss out on the opportunities the Mobile Web offers like they did on the traditional net…
