Colbert Lampoons Music Licensing with Black Keys vs. Vampire Weekend Indie Rock “Sellout Off”

image from blogs.westword.com (Updated) Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert took an only half tongue in cheek whack at the recent glut of music licensing in commercials with a "sellout off" featuring the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney and Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig.  The two heavily licensed indie rock bands each aired commercials featuring their songs in a competition based on their nominations for the  2010 Best Alternative Music Album Grammy. As one commentator advised, it was time to "leave your souls at the door".  Watch the video:
