The lesson: it's important to have your lyrics findable and searchable online. Fans like Taylor are going to be looking for them in Google. They need to be there.

Very good advice. Also: make sure any lyrics (like all text) on your site are plain HTML and not Flash so that you’re sure they can be copied/pasted by fans and indexed by search engines.
