Unusual Eminem Grammy TV Ad Campaign Proclaims “Music Is The Last Chance”

image from latimesblogs.latimes.com Perhaps its a reflection of a country fascinated by tales of redemption: like a homeless DJ that gets a new gig or a homeless street musician that goes viral on YouTube, gets a record deal and turns his life around.  But whatever the reason, this year's Grammy tv spot drops the glitz and glamor for an unusual spot that uses Eminem's life story to encourage you to watch the Grammys. "It's a strange sentiment to use for a gala event in which celebrities compliment each other on behalf of an industry that ignores everyone but Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber," points out AdFreak. Watch the tv spot:

The spot has not gone a viral as the creators had hoped, notching just 4000 views since its posting on YouTube 6 days ago. Its all part the Grammy's broader Music Is Life campaign that also encourages fans to go online and mark milestones on life maps of their own musical inspirations.

  1. The Grammy awards have been anything but credible in the last 15 years. No wonder they have trouble getting people to watch the Grammys. I wisened up ages ago. Looks like everyone has followed suit. Surprise Surprise!
