PM Update: 5 Serious Bidders For WMG, DIY Music Sales Platform Launches, BMI, Facebook Analytics

  • Warner Music Group has at least 5 serious bidders in the $1.4 to 2 billion range. According to Billboard and other sources they include: Sony Music, supermarket magnate Ron Burkle's Yucaipa Companies, Platinum Equity, Len Blavatnik's Access Industries (which owns 2% of WMG) and BMG Rights Management.
  • DIY Media to officially launch DIY Music tomorrow. Its a flexible social commerce sales platform supported by Amazon Web Services and Amazon Payments. Content owners can build customized widgets that drop into Facebook pages, sites or blogs, and sell individual tracks, albums, or entire catalogs.
