Scratch Music Group which provides DJ services plus DJ and music production learning centers in three cities has raised $3.3 million in funding. Co-developed by Jam Master Jay of Run DMC, Contour Venture Partners led the round along with additional funding from the New York City Investment Fund, angel investors Jason Finger and Todd Arky of SeamlessWeb, and Jacob Pechenik of YellowJacket Software.
Scratch has built a team of DJs, who entertain at thousands of weddings, corporate events, tours, and music festivals each year. Scratch clients include MTV, Saks, Vans, Bloomingdales, ESPN, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Ann Taylor, Pepsi, Sandals Beach Resorts and W Hotels.
The company also runs the Scratch DJ Academy a DJ and music production learning center co-developed with Jam Master Jay of Run DMC, with locations in NYC, Miami, and LA.
