Ovation App Provides Real-Time Audience Feedback

image from www.google.com Ever wish you knew how your audience felt about your performance? Which moments captivated their attention, and which moments put them to sleep? Now you can.

A new app called Ovation allows audience members to rate your performance in real-time telling you exactly the moments when you’re riveting, or when you’re drab.

Similar to methods used to gauge responses for TV pilots, fans can use the on-screen slider to provide their feedback. When they like what they see and hear, they’ll slide the bar up – when they don’t, they slide it down.

Ovation then provides feedback data in a plot graph indicating exactly when your performance went well or went wrong.

Not limited to just live performances, artists can use this app to gain fan insights on music videos, new music releases, and more.

Since it is a web app, Ovation is compatible with most smartphones and mobile devices without any sort of installation. The service is currently free, but also limited to just 10 simultaneous responders per event. However, the folks at Ovation say that they’re willing to work with you if you've got a larger sample group.

  1. yeah, just want an artist needs. a new app to take more attention off the stage during a performance. as if looking into an audience isn’t already just staring into a sea of smartphones. if you can’t tell how the audience is feeling when you’re up there… i don’t know what to tell you.

  2. So, if the fan is responding to the app, whether positive or negative, the artist failing to captivate them. Someone should invent an app where people can bang, or clap, two smartphones together to allow the fan to show praise.

  3. It should have a “throwing the phone at the stage” feature to indicate related displeasure!
Or perhaps something that makes a hissing or booing sound.
    The possibilities are endless!
