iTunes Match Music Service Misses Launch Deadline
When Apple announced iTunes Match in early June it promised a launch by "the end of October". As of the morning of November 2nd, no launch is in sight, and as usual Apple is not talking. Developers have had access to a beta version of iTunes Match since August, but according to reports from accross the net, that access has now expired.
iTunes Match will scan a users music collection comparing it to the 18 million songs on iTunes for $24.99 a year regardless of the size of the collection, It then allows access to the users music on all devices running iOS 5.
It's not like Apple to miss a major self-imposed deadline, and could signal either technical issues or problems with rightsholders.
