Music WithMe Enables Anonymous Social Music Discovery

We thought enough of Music WithMe to name it one of the 10 Smartest Startups at SFMusic Tech. The people behind Music WithMe, an app that wirelessly synchs iTunes music to Android devices, recognize that not all of your friends will have the same tastes in music as you. They also know that a person’s taste in music can be grounds enough to spark a genuine friendship.

That’s why they’ve updated their up with a new feature that allows users to “Tune In” to discover others' musical tastes, and “Tune Out” to filter out existing music that just doesn’t quite resonate.

When discovering new music, you may have similar tastes to others sharing music across the social networks, but may not want to follow them or add them as a friend for a variety of reasons. With their latest update, Music WithMe users can now "Tune In" to anyone sharing music and see all the music they’ve shared without having to follow them on Twitter or friending on Facebook. Conversely, users can also “Tune Out” music shared, while still following someone on Twitter or having them be their friends on Facebook.

“We know from experience that just because you are following someone on Twitter and are interested in what they have to say, it doesn’t mean you like the music they share,” said Jeff Fedor, co-CEO of ParkVu, the creators of the Music WithMe app.

“Now music lovers can refine their own social networking by tuning in to the music shared by those with similar tastes or the tastemakers themselves, while tuning out the music shared by those who don’t.”

Additionally, Music WithMe users now have ability to sync "all" music in iTunes. The app now allows for users to sync their "Music" playlist, and all music from their iTunes library on their computer will be on their Android. Any new music found and purchased in iTunes will be synced to their Android automatically.
