TuneCore Adds $4.99 Per Month Music Distribution

Flat fee digital music distributor TuneCore has added a new by-the-month pricing option.. Albums can now be distributed to iTunes, Spotify, AmazonMP3 and other digital stores and services for a flat fee of $4.99 per month.

That's effectively $59.88 per year and the recurring charge can be canceled at any time. This new offer is in addition to existing pricing of $49.99 a year per album and $9.99 a year for a single release.

Monthly pricing may be attractive to some cash strapped artists anxious to release their music. But it's also away for TuneCore to potentially increase revenue while still maintaining popular existing pricing options.

  1. If an artist can’t afford $50 to get their music distributed, they’ve got bigger problems than a Tunecore bill. C’mon.

  2. SO they are going to charge you $9.89 per year extra so you can pay per month instead of per year?? really.. how is that helping artists!
Artists should really check out RouteNote.com. We have a Free (no upfront cost, keep 85% of royalties) and Premium option (small fee $30 per album once off.. then $9.99 per year after and keep 100% of the royalties). A much better off compared to what Tunecore is offering!

  3. This is the reason why artists should go to Venzo Music. Its the perfect choice for iTunes distribution. Its free, its simple, and it just works.
They also pay artist 80% of all their sales + they can sell unlimited music, music videos, and ringtones. Its the only distributor in the world that can build iPhone apps without any upfront fees. Check them out!
