Artist Growth Adds Mobile Registration For Live Performances Royalties

AG_BMI_Partnership(UPDATED) The artist management application Artist Growth has been dubbed as a “Swiss army knife” for the music industry by Business Insider, and for good reason. When we last reported on AG, the career management platform integrated finances, calendars, inventory, contacts, social media, and mentoring resources all in one easy-to-use cloud based mobile interface. Now the company is looking to streamline live performance royalties for musicians by partnering with the performing rights organization BMI.

Announced this week at SXSW, this unique partnership enables BMI artists to register for royalties from any mobile device as soon as they leave the stage. BMI members who participate in BMI Live (BMI’s new program designed to pay royalties to songwriters for live performances in bars, clubs, restaurants and other music venues) will be able to submit their performances and set lists through Artist Growth, with 100% of the royalties going straight to the artist.

“Artist Growth is an innovative new digital platform that presents exciting possibilities for BMI performing songwriters to manage and organize their schedules and tour support,” said Jody Williams, BMI’s VP of Writer/Publishing Relations. “We look forward to offering access to Artist Growth to all BMI-affiliated writers, and working closely with their team to offer greater digital integration with BMI's groundbreaking BMI Live program."

Now through March 18, Artist Growth is offering a free, one-year trial period to BMI members. After March 18, BMI members can download and use the Artist Growth app for a free six-month trial period.

Since the announcement was made earlier this week, Artist Growth's server traffic has reportedly jumped 10,000%. In addition to BMI, Artist Growth also announced partnerships at SXSW with CD Baby, Americana Music Association, Pledge Music and more.
