Why Music is Less Valuable Than Expertise and Information...?

Muve Music Adds The Orchard, CD Baby Catalog & Direct Licensing with TuneCore

image from www.google.comCricket Communication's Muve Music has signed agreements with three more independent digital music distributors: CD Baby, TuneCore and The Orchard. The agreement will collectively double Muve's catalog to 10 million tracks. The service has 600,000 mobile music subcribers in the U.S.

Muve Music customers pay a monthly fee for unlimited song downloads and ring tones to their phone. All four major label groups and Merlin already have deals with Cricket. A phased rollout of new tracks from the three indie distributors will begin immediately, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.

Tunecore's new deal with Muve continues CEO's Jeff Price's efforts to offer the company's clients direct licensing.  Under the agreement, Muve obtains the rights to both the recordings and songs represented by TuneCore and will pay royalties directly to TuneCore for distribution. The  approach is designed to provide artists and song writers with a more transparent and timely royalty collection system.
