Jack White Calls Performing At Music Festivals A “Neccesary Evil”

image from www.google.comJack White is in London this weekend to perform at the iTunes Festival, but he's not sure that playing festivals is worth it.

"I don't get excited about festivals – they're not my favourite place to play.."

A lot of people come to them and there's all these pros to
them.

You get exposure to people who would never come and see you and
[the organisers] offer bands a lot of money so they can't say no, but
they're not my first choice to perform music.

Everyone's drinking and lazing in the sun and walking around and that's a fun thing for them but it's not interesting for me.

I'm not trying to be negative, it's just never been too exciting for me."

  1. Oh, shame. Poor little rock star. He has to perform in front of thousands of people and get paid for it. Such an evil
Gimme a break. Playing the whole tormented rock star thing is getting old.
If he’s really an artist, why is he charging for his music and gigs?
    D**khead.

  2. Good to know after seeing him headline every major festival in the US this year!
Oh well, festivals aren’t his thing. He is still a fantastic artist.
