Musicplayr Nabs $625,000 For Online Playlist Creation, Leaves Private Beta

image from www.thejunction.de(UPDATE 2) Berlin based music tech startup Musicplayr has announced at $625,000 seed investment from Lars Langusch of Holzbrink Ventures.  The free online playlist service enables users to collect and play songs from blogs, YouTube, SoundCloud, Vimeo and DailyMotion.


image from www.google.comBecause Musicplayr draws music from other sources, there none of the often thorny and expensive licensing issues that many music startups face.  “We work exactly like a Tumblr or WordPress blog,” co-founder Stefan Vosskoetter told TechCrunch.

Currently users tag tracks (indie, folk), but the company is planning a Gracenote integration for music identification. The founders also say that a pay version will likely be added.
