Good Lizard Media’s David Riley & Hypebot’s Clyde Smith Appear On Digital Music Trends

Dmt-logoLast week I appeared on Andrea Leonelli's Digital Music Trends podcast along with David Riley of Good Lizard Media, a London-based digital marketing firm for music. We had a great chat about recent news with some interesting commentary on different aspects of the music industry. It's the first in a new year for a podcast that's included a wide range of commentary from folks in the industry.

DMT 115: 2012 Sales, Streaming Led Zep, Artist Strategies for 2013

From Digital Music Trends:

"We kick off a new run of the podcast by looking at the music sales figures from 2012 coming from the US (Nielsen/Billboard) and the UK (BPI/Official Charts Company). Nothing hugely uplifting but things could be worse… We also talk about Spotify’s move away from downloads in Europe, Led Zeppelin considering licensing their catalogue to a streaming services (and is there a reason for any huge act not to?) and finally we end by talking about crowdfunding and the 2013 check-list for any musician or band – especially unsigned ones – to kick-start the year and optimise the time spent online."

Skype did introduce some audio issues but it's still well worth a listen.
