Pandora announced today that Michael Herring has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer. Herring comes to Pandora from a positions as VP of Operations at Adobe Systems. He's also done stints as EVP and CFO at Omniture. Pandora's current CFO, Steven Cakebread, had said in August that he would leave the company soon to consider “industry-changing opportunities.”
Cakebread is known as one of a handful of serial CFOs who specialize in taking companies public and then don’t remain long after the initial public offering.
In a statement announcing Herring's appointment, Pandora President and CEO Joe Kennedy said, "Mike's background is ideal for Pandora. He brings many years of executive-level leadership building global technology businesses from inception to sustainable long-term profitability and revenue growth. We're delighted to have him on our management team and look forward to his contributions to Pandora as we define the future of radio."
"Pandora has experienced tremendous user adoption, market share and revenue growth while leading the charge to disrupt and redefine traditional broadcast radio," said Pandora's new CFO. "Pandora has one of the most popular mobile applications in the world, and I'm excited to work with a company that's at the forefront of the mobile content explosion, from consumer usage to monetization."
