BalconyTV Expands Live Music Network To New Orleans and Athens, More U.S. Cities To Come

Balconytv-logoBalconyTV, an international network that shoots live music performances on actual balconies, is expanding its unique presence to include New Orleans, Athens, Greece and the Italian cities of Schio and Messina. More U.S. locations are in the works where BalconyTV will continue its mission of introducing emerging acts to a world audience.

BalconyTV launched way back in 2006 as a unique web show shot from a balcony in Dublin. Music became a popular item and the concept began to spread as early acts such as The Script broke through to a larger audience and franchisees in other cities got involved.

In 2011 BalconyTV joined an incubator and the next year achieved a healthy Series A round of investment.

Since then BalconyTV has continued to grow and, in the process, racked up some impressive achievements:

The site posts fifty performances a week, 2500 annually from over fifty different cities on six contients.

Balcony TV has recorded over 10,000 original performances that have garnered over 45,000,000 worldwide views.

Among those early acts are Mumford & Sons, The Script, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Matisyahu, Jessie J, Temper Trap and Ed Sheeran—all recorded when they were unknowns.

Now BalconyTV is adding four new locations for taping in New Orleans, Athens, Greece and Schio and Messina, Italy. Plans are in the works to add Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and Boston.
