After several months of less stellar stats, Pandora's August listening hours totaled 1.35 billion, up 5% month over month and 16% over the same month last year. Pandora's share of total U.S. radio listening rose to 7.46%, below February's 8.48%, but before the music streamer added a 40 hour per month mobile listening cap for free users on September 1st.
Overall market share is above July's 7.08% and June's 7.04%. Active listeners are also up 1% from last month and and 28% from last year to 72.1 million.
With increasing competition, including the expected launch later this month of iTunes Radio, continued growth could become more elusive for Pandora.
