image from a4.mzstatic.comMood and activity based music streamer Songza has raised $4.7 million in equity financing. Investors include Amazon, which has participated in earlier funding rounds, along with talent agency William Morris Endeavor, Lerer Ventures, Deep Fork Capital, Metamorphic Ventures, Lady Gaga manager Troy Carter Justin Beiber manager Scooter Braun and 'Wine Guy' Gary Vaynerchuk.

The investment comes as Songza brings more adveritising to the platform, including branded playlists.“Songza has created an entirely novel content delivery platform that uses ambient intelligence – the context of our daily lives and activities – to surface and serve content in the most relevant, predictive and personalized way,” said Timothy Komada, Managing Partner of Deep Fork Capital.

"With
this funding, we’re scaling our native advertising solution to make
brand-to-customer interactions more engaging for customers and more successful
for brands,” said Elias Roman, co-founder and CEO of Songza. Brands such as Nissan, Samsung, Taco Bell, HSN, Victoria’s Secret PINK, Vitaminwater, Mr. Clean, and Colgate have been early adopters.

Songza has grown from a team of 6 to a team of 27 over the last year, while expanding its network of music curators to 50 music writers, DJs, and artists creating playlists.
