Clay Shirky: The Fragmentation Of The Social Web

arrowThere was a moment when we could imagine Facebook being the hub for all social activity, says scholar and theorist Clay Shirky, but that time has past. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Secret, Reddit, Pinterest and a plethora of popular social networks, all point to a fragmented social web.

For musicians and marketers that means, in addition to making their own web site a worthy hub, they need to be active in as many place as they can be – or at least in those places where their fans and potential fans spend time.
