iTunes Radio Hopes To Steal Broadcast Radio Listeners By Advertising On… Broadcast Radio

image from upload.wikimedia.orgIf you can't beat 'em, join 'em; or at least spend some marketing dollars there. Apple's iTunes Radio has started a campaign to grab listeners from broadcast radio by advertising on… broadcast radio. The spot was first noticed on Boston country station WKLB-FM by Robert Maccini who tipped the RAIN blog.

Listen to the spot:

“Our listeners consume music in different ways. We engage them digitally through our stream, station website and our station apps. iTunes is a part of that experience for our listeners," a station spokesperson told RAIN. "They hear new music on us and download the songs from iTunes. iTunes radio is an extension of that lifestyle and it will happen with or without us. We’d rather cross-pollinate with technology wherever we can.”
