Prince Says Major Label Heads “Always at the beach with their kids”

wmgPrince may have made a deal to release his music via Warner Music Group, but that doesn't mean his criticism of the traditional music industry is about to become muted. "Every time I talk to the heads of large companies, they're always at the beach," said Prince in a new Essence Magazine interview.

That's just days after closing is deal with WMG and issuing this statement: ""A brand new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros. Records and Eye are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship."

Pirince also had some cutting comments about his old bandmates, The Revolution.

"A real musician is always in creative mode," Prince said as he picked up a butter knife and started cutting the air with it. "That's what I used The Revolution for."

'But ask them to do what we did tonight? To improvise? There would be a problem," he continued. "That's what I love about this new arrangement. The energy. They're in the moment."
