Facebook Launches “Mentions” App Just For Musicians, Celebrities

image from fbnewsroomus.files.wordpress.comFacebook's Creative Labs today launched Mentions, a new app designed to encourage musicians and other public figures to discover and join conversations on Facebook. Mentions lets you see what fans are saying via a new mentions feed, post updates, start a mobile Q&A, find out what’s trending and  get streamlined notifications. Austin Mahone, Ed Sheeran, Mariah Carey (pictured), Big Boi and Prince Royce are among the musicians already using the new app. 

Mentions is available on iPhone to people with verified Pages in the US.  Facebook says it will roll it out to more countries and verified Profiles in the coming months.  Non- music c

There are already more than a billion interactions between public figures and their fans on the Facebook every week. According to Facebook, public figures produce more than twice as much content per day using Mentions compared to before they started using it,. They also interact with other public figures more than two times more per day using Mentions.
