  1. Its important to meet with Kevin due to the fact that I’m currently at an extremely crucial point in my young career. I’m an attorney by day and a passionate musician by night, also running an independent label/creative hub.
It would be an honor to be able to share a conversation with Kevin and soak in some knowledge from one of the many entrepreneurial spirits that keep people like myself going.
I hope I fit the “brief” requirement, regardless, thank you!

  2. Dear Mr. Lyman,
My name is Chancius and I’m from Brooklyn, NY. My newest album ‘Bando’ will be released in a week’s time that is currently charting on non-com radio stations across the US. I have busked in subway tunnels to touring up and down the east coast. I have worked in a privately owned, multimillion dollar rental instrument company & school to working at Jive Records. I have read countless books about the music industry and biographies besides researching websites every day. After all of this experience I still know very little about music festivals and how to become involved. I’m certain that if we met for 30 minutes it would not be a waste of your time. Thank you.

  3. Hi Kevin,
We’ve actually briefly in the past – I was a Music Industry student at Drexel University seeking an internship with the Vans Warped Tour. I ended up elsewhere, but since then I’ve become a marketing consultant for several labels, as well as a developmental artist manager. As a manager, I would love to pick your brain about your insights on development, outreach, festivals in particular, and discuss if there is anything more I could be doing for my artists that I am not already doing to push my career and theirs to higher levels. I am an avid reader of Hypebot, FMQB, and Lefsetz, but I feel I could use someone with field experience. I’m hoping you chose me, as I still have as much to learn as I have to offer. Thank you,

  4. Having a one-on-one meeting with Kevin is a once in a lifetime opportunity for anyone hoping to work in the music industry. I am a music student in college now and know that I could learn so much from him in just 30 minutes that I might not get the chance to learn in my years of schooling. Learning how to get into the industry and make contacts is crucial information for someone in my position and I would be so grateful if I were chosen.

  5. Well lets see. Brief! and minus b.s.
So I found this post via Reddit. Didn’t know who Kevin Lyman personally was till wikipedia a bit ago. I do know the things he has built though.
So I see this dude has done some kickass stuff. And is a successful business man and loves music.
I wanna pick his brain because I wanna know his fav. ice-cream! Well also I’d wanna absorb as much good info as I could in the short time on the business side of things too. As a fellow entrepreneur and music fan/maker.
And some free concert tickets are pretty badass too! (not gonna lie)

  6. Truth be told, more than anything, I want to be on the frontline of the changing music industry. I think that the old model of the music industry is fading away to give room for the new and I would like to be as heavily involved as possible. My band is touring regularly, releasing a new album early 2015, so we see what is going on in the trenches. I believe as an industry amidst of tons of opportunities for musicians, smaller labels, independent promotions and marketing teams, writers, etc, while major publications scream, “Music is dying! How can you function giving away your product?” I simply believe otherwise, music is evolving. I would love to take some time with Mr. Lyman and share a conversation.

  7. Hi Mr. Lyman,
I would like to meet with you this year on the Vans Warped Tour for several different reasons. Warped Tour is a very big part of the reason I’m involved in music to begin with, and I would love to get a closer look at how it works. I will be graduating from Berklee College of Music this spring with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Business/Management and I have studied a wide range of music business related subjects like publishing, record company operations, and even concerts and touring. Over the summer, I worked for a data company and closely kept track of the songs played by bands on the 2014 Warped Tour for an in-company project. Additionally, I am a pop/rock musician influenced by many of Warped’s alum over the years and have an overwhelming enthusiasm for anything Warped tour related.
Being able to look at Warped tour from the inside would be such a wonderful opportunity and I am looking forward to your Creative Live class!
    Sincerely,
    EJ Carey
