Linkfire: “Smart Links For Music Marketing”

Linkfire_logoLinkfire is a promising new service that creates "smart links for music marketing." Smart links allow you to use one link that can direct people to a specific url based on their location/date/device or even deep link into apps that they have installed. This flexibility means that you can create campaigns using links to get people to the right place while gathering stats on what they do. Definitely worth checking out for music marketers and musicians who market.

Linkfire launched, or at least got active on the web, a bit over a year ago with a broader focus on content creators and marketers. They recently refocused on music marketing and it seems like a good fit.

Linkfire is somewhat of a combination of GeoRiot, which creates links that send folks to different music ecommerce stores based on their location, and Bitly, which shortens links, allows for custom urls and tracks stats.

What sets Linkfire apart is its mobile app deep linking:

"Mobile app deep linking enables linking into a specific part, page or state of a mobile app that is tuned for displaying content on mobile devices in a nice way. So instead of directing mobile users to an unfriendly webpage it will trigger an app if this is installed on the user’s mobile/tablet. You can even send users to an alternative landing page (e.g. App Store) if the app is not installed."

As you can see from their homepage, the focus on music allows them to create quite a useful tool. For example, they support more than 50 different music services and allow you to use affiliate links as well.
