Pitch Your Music Startup At Berlin Venture Day 2014

LogoThe second annual Rethink Music Venture Day takes place in Berlin, October 24. A joint production of Berklee College of Music, Midem and IE Business School, Venture Day will focus on music and entrepreneurship with speakers, discussions and networking. In addition, the  big event will be a music startup competition that will give 12 new companies a chance to win a nice "business start-up package” offering both services and support.

Rethink Music is the joint creation of Berklee College of Music and Midem. They also partner with a variety of folks including IE Business School who are co-hosts for Rethink Music Venture Day aka Venture Day Berlin 2014.

The event takes place October 24 from 9 am to 7 pm at the Factory in Mitte, Berlin. Registration is free (including snacks and lunch).

An initial schedule is available and the day is set to be full of speakers and discussion about music and entrepreneurship starting off with a keynote by Paul Hitchman of Kobalt Label Services.

Last year's startup competition winner, Nagual Sounds, will also be participating in this year's event.

Pitch Your Startup at Venture Day Berlin

Up to 12 startups will be given the chance to pitch to "investors and executives" at Venture Day Berlin in their business startup competition:

"Rethink Music seeks proposals for new businesses in the music industry. Projects may focus on any facet of music but must be investor-ready with a committed team. ..Criteria for first-round assessment will include innovation, team, growth potential, and scalability."

You have until September 29 to submit:

"The winner will be awarded a ‘business start-up package” comprising $10,000 in legal services through an in-kind donation from Duane Morris, LLP, space in Berklee’s music incubator in Boston, enrolment in an online certificate program from Berkleeonline.com; complimentary registration for Midem 2015; as well as access to investors and capital to launch their new music start-up."

Finalists will be notified by October 6.
