New Rdio & AEG Partnership Offers Free Rdio Unlimited Subscription With Ticket Purchase

Axs+rdio_WEBRdio has struck an exclusive deal with AXS, an AEG joint venture, that allows concert goers to listen to their favorite songs anytime, anywhere on any streaming capable device. AXS.com ticket buyers will immediately receive a trial subscription to Rdio Unlimited, giving them on-demand access to Rdio's catalog of over 32 million songs, curated stations and customizable programming, connecting fans to the music their favorite artists are bringing to and beyond the stage.

“We are thrilled to partner with AXS to provide millions of concert goers access to our vast music library of over 32 million songs through this seamless integration with the live performance purchase experience,” said Anthony Bay, CEO of Rdio. “Rdio’s music discovery features and unlimited streaming service will provide AXS customers a unique and always‑on experience that is second only to hearing your favorite music live.”

With the service, concert goers will be notified when artists that they've enjoyed live have added new music to their Rdio catalog. This kind of integration sets the stage for targeted music discovery – making the process more efficient for both artists and fans who enjoy their genre of music.

“AXS has always been about more than just ticketing. Our goal is to provide technologies that unify every aspect of the event experience and Rdio’s superior user experience and deep catalog will allow AXS.com users to easily find and listen to their favorite music, discover new artists they might want to see live, and help us alert them to events by their favorite artists," said Bryan Perez, CEO of AXS. "We are excited to partner with and support Rdio to bring the music-listening experience from the concert venue to your home, office and smartphone.”

Rdio-logoEach new Rdio account will become personalized by past ticket purchases to predict and suggest music that the users may enjoy in the future. Users will be offered the free, 30-day, trial during the ticket check out process on AXS.com, with the trial starting only when the user activates the account. Should the user choose not to accept and/or activate the trial offer, they will still have access to Rdio's free, ad-supported internet radio service.

This new partnership is believed to be the first of it's kind between a major live event company and a top music streaming service, laying groundwork for a type of integration that could become a new industry standard.
