Musicyou Raises $330K Seed Round For Private Music Messaging
Music Messenger, PingTune, Mindie, Flipagram, TunePics. Music messaging and sharing is a crowded corner of the music tech space. Joining in is Musicyou, armed with a second round of seed funding.
Private music sharing and messaging app Musicyou has secured a second seed round of 300,000 Euros ($320,00 USD) from investors Smart Equity and Brains2Market.
The startup has also closed a deal with PT Portugal, Portugal’s largest teleco, as an exclusive promotional partner for the MEO SW music festival, according to Techcrunch.
Musicyou users can share text, photos or videos along with music across most messenger apps and social media. “Musicyou does not have the intention to be better than other music players. We are just bringing a new music experience focused on the private sharing of music,” says co-founder Rui Lopes.
I don’t understand how any of these are necessary. You can do any of this on Vine, Instagram, Facebook, SnapChat, or Twitter. There are way too many “sub-apps,” I don’t need to download an open a different app for each individual feature that is available on the major social networks.
