Simfy Is Shutting Down, Points Users To Deezer

image from mummelie.de2015 is shaping up as the year that some of streaming music's earliest players shut down or sold out. Pioneer WiMP is history, absorbed into TIDAL, and six year after launch, Grooveshark finally fell to the judge's gavel last week. Now, Simfy is winding down.

Founded in 2006, German based music streamer Simfy  is winding down it operations.

"As of May 1, 2015 Simfy Only offer a very limited number of songs, reads the front page of the company's web site. "Since we want to continue to provide the best possible music experience, we have a special offer for you. Register now (for free) at our partner Deezer and listen to all your favorite songs from more than 35 million songs, anytime, anywhere."

Earlier this year music from Warner Music Group disappeared from Simfy without comment from either party.  Now it appears that the other two majors have let their licences to Simfy expire.

Simfy has received $23 million in 2 rounds from 3 investors: NRW.BANK, Dumont Venture and Earlybird Venture Capital.
