Have You Forgotten About TIDAL? Jay Z Just Did, Under Oath.

jay zJay Z is a busy man these days.  In addition to his own musical career, management company and multitude of other ventures, he been testifying at the "Big Pimpin'" trial and meeting with Samsung about a partnership or sale of TIDAL. Perhaps, he's taken on a bit too much…

During the trial over the sample of the Egyptian song "Khosara Khosara" on the Jay Z and Timberland collaboration "Big Pimpin'," Jay Z was asked why he had not researched the rights to the song before using it.

Tidal logo"That’s not what I do. I make music," he replied. "I make music, I'm a rapper, I’ve got a clothing line, I run a label, a media label called Roc Nation, with a sports agency, music publishing and management. Restaurants and nightclubs … I think that about covers it.".

"I’m not so sure. You have a music streaming service [Tidal], don’t you?" prompted his attorney Andrew Bart.

"Yeah, yeah. Forgot about that," answered Jay Z.
