  1. This article is terrible advice, and I’m appalled that Music Think Tank (normally a source of great articles) would publish this garbage. The author of this article is advocating that musicians lie about their performance resume, something that is completely unethical and would get you fired from a job in any other industry. On top of this, if you get caught in your lie, your professional reputation would be damaged.
    Musicians: either spend the money and travel to SXSW or don’t go, but don’t lie about going. It’s not worth tarnishing your self-respect and reputation.
