Rage Against The Machine Tease Fans Ahead Of New Project

image from www.celebrityaccess.comA series of clues, including a cryptic website with a countdown timer and a series of posters around Los Angeles has prompted speculation that Rage Against The Machine might be planning a reunion. According to a source quoted by Rolling Stone, that isn't the case. But there is something up…

A tweet on the Rage Against The Machine Twitter feed on Tuesday sent fans to the website , which has little to it other than a graphic and a timer, counting down to May 31st, which when combined with a slew of posters turning up in Los Angeles stating "Clear the way for the Prophets of Rage. The Party's Over. Summer 2016" made a reunion seem to be in the offing.

However, a source close to the band told Rolling Stone that the speculation thus far has been wrong.  "This is not a Rage-specific reunion," the unnamed source told the magazine. "There's a lot more to it. There are a lot of moving parts, a lot of exciting news to be revealed."

The source added that the project will include some members of the band and confirmed that the project would include some live shows. "Whether that's one show, or five shows, I don't know," the source told Rolling Stone. "There are more announcements to come."

Rage, one of the most popular acts of the 1990s, released their last album in 2000 before the band parted ways. Since then, they have reunited several times, including in 2007 for a tour and a performance in 2011.
